Roberto di Filippo's winery began production in 1971 and since 1994 has been certified as an organic producer. Robert di Filippo chooses to lean more traditionally in terms of winemaking style, with a very interesting approach to oak usage and a blending technique for this Montefalco Rosso unlike any other. He also chooses to work his vineyards organically for two reasons: first, because as much as has been made of the importance to the end user, the truth is "it is very hazardous for us as farmers to work among chemicals." Secondly, "This is a strong signal to our customer of the 'something special' we do by spending more time in our vineyards."
