Cotarella "Sodale" Merlot 2018, Lazio Italy

Grapes are harvested by hand and taken to the winery where they are manually selected and fermented in stainless steel tanks with regular, soft manual punch-downs. Temperature is controlled in order to preserve the enate balance of the Merlot varietal. Upon completion of alcoholic fermentation, the wine is transferred to barrel for malolactic and aging for 9-10 months. Sodale is aged several months in bottle before its release.
Intensely red in color with purple reflections, this wine contains aromas of forest berries, sweet spice and vanilla bean. Round and harmonious on the palate, this wine has sweet tannins and a delicate finish.
