Thunevin-Calvet Cuvée Constance Côtes du Roussillon-Villages, Languedoc-Roussillion 2016
|Availability:||In stock (4)|
Visiting Roussillon in 2000, Jean-Luc Thunevin discovered its wonderful terroirs and was seduced by the region. At the same time, he met Jean-Roger Calvet, a local winemaker. They decide to buy a few acres of vineyards together and found the Domaine Thunevin-Calvet, located in Maury on beautiful terroirs of black schists. Their first vintage was produced in 2001. Cuvée Constance is dedicated to Jean-Roger’s daughter.
93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Carignan raised exclusively in concrete, the 2016 Cuvee Constance looks to be a beauty. It's almost floral, bursting with cherries and raspberries. Full-bodied, supple and creamy in texture on the palate, it's lovely, ripe, sexy stuff that lingers deliciously on the finish.
92 James Suckling - A refined blend of Grenache and Carignan with cherry and strawberry flavors, as well as hints of flowers and lemon rind. Medium body. Delicious finish.
