Chateau Bellegrave lies in the south of Pauillac, surrounded by plots of the greatest classified growths. The historic property was owned by the Van-Der-Voort family until 1997, when Jean-Paul Meffre purchased the estate. Since that time, the Meffre family has invested heavily to restore the property, upgrade the cellars, and acquire additional vineyard. The Chateau and cellars and the lion?s share of the 8. 3 hectares of the vineyards are located just south of the town of Pauillac, neighboring Latour, Lynch Bages, and Pichon Longueville. 3 hectares are located in Artigues, next to Grand-Puy-Lacoste. All of the vignoble is planted on the deep gravel deposits for which the area is known, and from which the estate derives its name.
