Blend of Sangiovese (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Merlot (25%).
The Poggio al Commessario, together with the Cessa del Civettaio extends for 2.2 hectares; facing northeast. The grapes, harvested manually, after the thinning of July and the selection of the bunches for harvest, are vinified separately in 30 hl steel tanks and in 38 hl barrel tanks.
Mature in oak barrels for at least 18 months. The assembly of the wines takes place a few months before bottling; bottled without being filtered and then aged for at least 10 months in the bottle.
It is a bit of my 'international' wine, a supertuscan in the old way, very pleasant to drink, soft, suitable for all meals and also as an aperitif with cheeses and cold cuts.
