Adega Sameiras is situated in southern Galicia and is run by Antonio Cajide, who has been in charge of operations since 2002, although the family have been making wine at the estate for generations. The vines are divided between 23 separate plots located in the Sameiras area and everything is carried out organically. Due to the variety of soils Antonio is able to work with several indigenous grapes, matching each variety to its preferred terroir. The Sameiras Blanco, first appearing in 2004, is an excellent example of this use of several different indigenous grapes. A blend of mainly Treixadura and Albarino with a splash each of Godello, Lado, Loureira, Torrontes and Caino Blanco, this is an expressive white that makes for an excellent aperitif.
