Louis Jadot Marsannay Clos du Roy 2021, Famille Gagey

Moderate if not generous wood frames equally cool aromas of red currant that possess a much more floral emphasis. The sleek and succulent medium weight flavors also possess a really lovely texture with fine cut and minerality on the dusty, chalky and compact finale that makes clear that at least some patience will be necessary. While a bit woody at present, this is quite good and worth considering.
Burghound
This vineyard is east-south oriented in the village of Chenôve. The soils are dark brown, dry and contain marls and clay with stones and gravels helping for a good drainage. The Clos du Roy vineyard may be the first parcel to get the premier cru appellation in the near future.
Destemmed grapes ferment in vats during 3 to 4 weeks. Aging takes place in oak barrels produced by our cooperage Cadus during 18 months
